Professional Scrum Master™ – Advanced is a course designed for experienced Scrum Masters seeking to deepen their skills. Students will explore:
- How Scrum principles and values guide decision-making.
- How to foster an environment where agility thrives.
An advanced class created to support Scrum Masters in their professional journey. This course is full of practical tools and facilitated exercises looking at the challenges that Scrum Masters face in their work with an organisation, a Product Owner, and a Scrum Team.
The course teaches Scrum Masters to apply various stances—teacher, coach, mentor, facilitator, change agent—effectively based on team needs. Additionally, it provides insights to gain credibility with management and stakeholders by demonstrating the benefits of Scrum and Agile.

There are no formal prerequisites for the participants of the course. Prior completion of the Professional Scrum Master™ course or holding the PSM I certificate is recommended. This course does not teach Scrum; therefore, you need to understand the basics of the framework.

The Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) exam is an online assessment. Participants of the PSM-A course receive a one-time code to access the test within five workdays after completion of the course. It is not mandatory to take the assessment; however, it is the only way to obtain the PSM II certificate.
The code for the exam doesn’t expire. However, if you take the test within 14 days from the moment of receiving the code and you fail, Scrum.org will issue yet another code for the second (and last free) attempt.
