Professional Scrum with Kanban™(PSK)

training code: ZP-PSKen / ENG DL 2d / EN

Professional Scrum™ with Kanban is an interactive, activity-based training course that teaches experienced Scrum Masters and other Scrum practitioners how to improve the way they work by applying Kanban practices in the context of professional Scrum. Through theory, a simulation, case studies and hands-on exercises, students will learn how Kanban practices can help Scrum Teams achieve better outcomes by improving the flow of work.

There are many benefits to optimising the flow of work in Scrum by leveraging Kanban practices. Professional Scrum™ with Kanban is a 16-hour course where students learn the benefits of using Scrum and Kanban together and optimising their workflow by adding four Kanban practices to Scrum:

  • Visualising the workflow on a Kanban board
  • Limiting Work in Progress (WIP)
  • Actively managing work items in progress
  • Continually inspecting and adapting the way the team uses flow optimisation

By leveraging these practices, teams improve transparency, collaboration and self-management, ultimately improving their ability to achieve Sprint Goals at a sustainable pace. In addition, this course focuses on helping students track and manage flow metrics to provide more predictable delivery patterns, ultimately helping them overcome common delivery challenges with getting to “Done”. Finally, students will leave with a better understanding of what good Kanban looks like and how to implement it within a professional Scrum environment.

The Professional Scrum with Kanban I (PSK I) exam is an online assessment. Participants of the PSK course receive a one-time code to access the test within 5 workdays after completion of the course. It is not mandatory to take the assessment; however, it is the only way to obtain the PSK certificate. Describe how the exam is conducted (e.g., online, in person, at home, in a test centre).

The code for the exam doesn’t expire. However, if you take the test within 14 days from the moment of receiving the code and you fail, Scrum.org will issue yet another code for the second (and last free) attempt.
