As part of a long-term cooperation with GASQ, Altkom Akademia enables you to prepare and pass the certification exam in the area of requirements engineering. The content and materials used to prepare for the exam at each level are provided by an organization called the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB).

Appropriate training and exams are available at two levels: basic and advanced.

The basic level currently includes one certificate called the Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering Foundation Level (CPRE FL). Although there are no prerequisites, we suggest using the substantive IREB CPRE FL training to facilitate the preparation and passing of this exam. Multiple-choice questions, about 45 in number, are answered at the computer within 75 minutes. To pass, 70% of points is required. Each question is given the number of points and the number of expected correct answers. At the end of the exam, the participant immediately sees his result. You can take the exam in English or Polish.

If you pass in English, you can choose to take the exam according to syllabus 2. 2 or syllabus 3. 0 until 31 March 2021 (note: there are significant differences between them). From 1 April 2021 the exam will be valid according to version 3. 0. If English is not the student’s native language, the time of the exam can be extended to 90 minutes.

For the time being, the syllabus 2. 2. After the Polish version of the preparation materials is made available, there will be a 6-month transition period, when it will be possible to pass according to both versions. Then the only valid version will be syllabus 3. 0.

At the advanced level, the Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering Advanced Level (CPRE AL), four specializations are available to choose from:

  • Requirements Elicitation
  • Requirements Modeling
  • Requirements Management
  • RE@Agile.

The prerequisite for taking the exam at this level is to have an IREB CPRE FL certificate or a Requirements Engineering certificate of the British Computer Society (BCS). Each advanced level exam consists of two parts. The first consists of answering multiple-choice questions (24 questions in English over 90 minutes), and the second consists of writing the paper in English and sending it to the IREB for assessment. The paper must be sent no later than one year after the completion of the first part. Detailed instructions on the form of the study are given to the student after passing the first part. The candidate chooses the subject of the study freely, based on their real experiences from the projects in which they participated. Obtaining a certificate at this level depends on the assessment of the study.

Altkom Akademia conducts trainings preparing for the sentence of the first part. For IREB accredited trainings and exams, please contact the Training Sales Department or Altkom Akademia helpline.
